Singer Ellen Almgren and pianist Olov “Klyv-Olle” Lindroth present a heartfelt duo performance in which ballads, original compositions and improvisation are set against a folk music backdrop. Ellen Almgren writes songs that give space to both everyday observations and existential reflections, drawing inspiration from the honest tone of folk songs and the imaginative richness of jazz. Olov “Klyv-Olle” Lindroth, a native of Vindel, is one of Sweden’s few dedicated folk pianists and has made a name for himself through his responsive, lively and distinctive playing. With great sensitivity and improvisational freedom, he paints expressive musical landscapes on the pedal organ and the piano. Ellen and Olov met whilst studying at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and, over the years, have developed a rapport that feels almost telepathic.
