Malgomaj are a Umeå-based hard rock trio with roots in Purmo, Lycksele and Vilhelmina. Beneath the band’s asbestos-clad façade of distortion and heavy riffs, one finds big-flowered blues in shades of brown and orange, psychedelic folk melodies and a groove that stirs up the deepest layer of dust in the soul’s crawl space. 

With lyrics in Swedish, Malgomaj puts into words the reality of Eastern and Western Bothnia, featuring pike gods and whale wonders, space journeys along road 365 and hopeless rebellions against the empire’s steel-eating anthropophages. Running through it all is a trail of cheerful melancholy. Malgomaj are currently promoting their debut album “Valfiskens buk” on Ostron Records.
