Matilda Enegren works with figurative painting and depicts people, details from nature and urban surroundings. She is interested in what is specific but at the same time commonplace. Enegren paints aspects of life, sights that draw her attention, and strives to identify the amazement and emotional response they evoke. By lingering on and paying attention to moments and people while working, she is able to slow things down.

Enegren is based in Helsinki and is currently working at the artist residency AteljéStundars in Solf,
Korsholm.
